How long have you been working in costs?

I have been working in costs for 20 years.

When did you join PIC?

I joined PIC in January 2024.

What work do you do?

I am a Senior Costs Consultant and Team Leader at PIC. I began my career as a Costs Draftsman at a North West firm after completing my Law Degree in 2006, and have since worked on a wide range of cases.

I specialise in high-value catastrophic and clinical negligence matters, with a particular interest in birth and brain injury cases. My work includes preparing Bills of Costs and Costs Budgets, running a negotiation caseload, preparing Points of Reply and Points of Dispute, and undertaking advocacy for detailed assessments, application hearings and CCMCs.

I have also been involved in training new staff and managing drafting teams. As a Team Leader at PIC, I take great pride in supporting and developing colleagues. I am also a qualified Mental Health First Aider.

Additional personal details:

Outside of work, I am a Mentor with the Women in Costs Mentoring Scheme and serve as a School Governor at my son’s primary school. In my spare time, I enjoy travelling and spending quality time with my family.
