How long have you been working in costs?

I have been working in costs for 15 years.

When did you join PIC?

I joined PIC in October 2011.

What work do you do?

I am a Senior Legal Costs Consultant at PIC with 15 years’ experience in legal costs. I support clients with costs work across complex and high-value matters, bringing a detailed and practical approach to the cases I work on.

My experience includes catastrophic road traffic accident cases and clinical negligence claims, including matters involving serious injury, long-running litigation and substantial damages.

Interesting cases

• A catastrophic road traffic accident involving a passenger travelling with a work colleague who was distracted by his phone despite repeated warnings. The driver spent the journey FaceTiming family, scrolling TikTok and watching videos, leading to a serious collision. Damages were agreed at £650,000.
• A clinical negligence claim where the Claimant was not prescribed the medication he required, leading to an avoidable stroke. He subsequently developed epilepsy and was left significantly disabled. The case ran from November 2018 to November 2023 and settled at JSM for £3.8 million.

Additional personal details:

Outside of work, I am a book lover and am aiming to read 100 books by the end of 2026. I have also recently found joy in gardening, although cutting the grass and getting rid of spiders is my partner’s job.

I am the proud owner of two cats, one of them ginger, whose life mission is to ensure I never get too relaxed. I am also a very enthusiastic godmother to my best friend’s eight-year-old daughter and my sister-in-law’s newborn, which means I get all the joy of days out, giggles and chaos, without the 6am wake-up calls.
