How long have you been working in costs?

I have been working in costs since 1976.

When did you join PIC?

I joined PIC in 2013.

What work do you do?

I am a Costs Lawyer at PIC and one of the best-known Costs Lawyers in the profession. With decades of experience, I am regularly instructed by clients across the country and am available to carry out advocacy nationwide.

I specialise in heavyweight and complex commercial, personal injury and clinical negligence matters, including multi-million-pound cases for some of the country’s largest practices.

In recent years, I have had a particular focus on costs management. This includes preparing Costs Budgets, advising clients on budget strategy and representing clients at CCMCs to address the Judge in relation to the budget. I also accept one-off instructions for all types of assessment and costs application hearings.

I have been a Costs Lawyer since 2008, having previously been a Fellow of the Association of Law Costs Draftsmen since 1986.

Additional personal details:

Outside of work, I am a keen fell runner and devoted grandfather. In my limited spare time, I enjoy the cinema and watching football.
