Additional personal details.
Having qualified as a Chartered Legal Executive via CILEx, working for a large Trade Union firm of Claimant solicitors (they acted for Plaintiffs back then…) I soon realised that the joy of winning a case for your client was magnified at least 2-fold when obtaining a positive outcome in the subsequent costs negotiations. Unfortunately, this joy was short lived when children came along so I became a full-time costs draftsman in 1995 and forming my own cradle to grave costing business shortly thereafter. This was to end in 2008, when the majority of my Trade Union clients were bought out by larger concerns, retired or simply closed. I then decided to join the Defendant field whereon I joined a large Defendant costs business and the experience of working on the other side of the fence was extremely interesting.
I am married and have 2 grown up children. My wife and I moved to Cornwall before COVID – 19 and recently moved to Boscastle which is a truly astonishing place.
My interests are walking, body boarding, swimming in the sea, music (playing and listening), attending concerts and real ale – not necessarily in that order!!
